T O P I C
Using the DA program,
without automated processes,
design an antenna
of the largest possible directivity
with the nearest possible to 50 Ohm impedance,
consists of one active and three parasitic
standing-wave wl/2 dipoles
such that
each couple of dipoles has one of the (A)-(E) arrangements
but one couple at most has the (B) layout
and one couple at most has the (C) layout.

where 0 < d =< 2*wl and 0 < a < 180 deg

1. Eligibility Requirements : Eligibility of Student

Must be a currently-registered as "Special Topics in Antennas" student.
2. Deadline for Contest Work Submission

Deadline for submitting written work is February 6, 2000.
3. Awards

A. First Place (one winning entry) award
receive the money to buy the NEC4WIN application.
B. First, Second and Third Place (one winning entry each)
receive a written certification for successful design.
C. All entries will be published in the Virtual Antennas web site.
4. Judging criteria

Contest Awards entries will be evaluated
by the sum of the places achieved from
(i) the value of directivity (max first) and
(ii) the value of the deviation from 50 Ohm of the impedance (min first).

5. Winners announcement

Announcement of winning entries will be published in the
Virtual Antennas web site on February 20, 2000.
